New Columbiette Auxiliary established at Sacred Heart Parish in Gladwin
On Jan. 31, a new Columbiette Auxiliary was established at Sacred Heart Parish in Gladwin. The Columbiettes are a Catholic women's
auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus, which aids the parish’s Knights of Columbus Council spiritually, socially and financially.
Congratulations to the 25 dedicated women who recited the pledge of membership and to the inaugural slate of officers, which include President Kelly Fruchey, Vice-President Rachael Hoch, Secretary Dr. Evangeline Ancheta, Treasurer Lauren Guzman, Financial Secretary Beth Friend and Sentinel Dianne Lawrence.
The Columbiettes were founded in 1939 to work alongside the Knights of Columbus in service to the Church. As a unified body, they exist to promote spiritual, social and intellectual values and are dedicated to promoting God’s love for all through tangibleservice. This includes aiding the parish in various ways, helping those less fortunate in the community and standing as a strong voice for the protection of all life, both born and unborn. They also place a high value on fostering a deep sisterhood and building relationships that will last a lifetime. The Columbiettes are dedicated to their patronesses, the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Therese of Lisieux and St. Joan of Arc.
