A new school year means crisp notebooks, freshly sharpened pencils and the continuation of excellence for our Catholic schools throughout the Diocese of Saginaw.

The 2025-26 academic year saw continued growth for our schools. Academically, our schools outperformed Michigan public schools as well as Catholic schools in the state and nationally in math and reading achievement and growth in eight of nine grade levels (K-8). On average, 68% of our students met or exceeded their annual growth projections in math and reading. We supported our teachers and administrators through updated guidance and standards related to social studies, English language arts and artificial intelligence. All three of these new documents include intentional components that keep our work anchored in our mission of evangelization and formation.

Looking forward to 2026-27, priorities include supporting schools through tailored professional development throughout the year, supporting three of our schools with the re-accreditation process and continuing to review and update academic standards, which define learning goals for each grade level and subject area.
